FAQ
In plain and simple language, below are some frequently asked questions about how our service works:
We help teachers find jobs.
We also help school counselors and administrators to find jobs.
You tell us what you want. For example, "I want to teach Science in Colorado Springs". Then Colorado Learning will work hard to find you exactly that. We will submit you for openings that match the criteria you have given us. When a school shows an interest in your profile, we will let you know and try to guide you toward securing an interview if it is something that you desire.
Yes, we guarantee you results. Our No-Cost Guarantee assures that you will be hired as a teacher (or Administrator, etc.) in the field of education. Here is how our guarantee works; if you sign-up for our service and we are unable to help you secure a position, or you get a position on your own during that time, then you would owe us nothing.
Yes, when you fill out our application you ARE making good use of your time. You're probably tired of filling out applications, but ours is different. It only has a few blanks to fill in and you don't need to send anything with your application. It's simple and easy. The best part is that, filling out our application can help you avoid filling out hundreds of other applications. Most of the teachers we help don't fill out any more applications (after ours) until AFTER they have had an interview or two with the school, and in some cases even AFTER they have been board approved and had the position offered to them by the superintendent of the district. Our goal is to make your life easier, and to multiply your efforts, thus helping you get faster results!
Yes, Colorado Learning LLC is a member of CASE and we have connections and influence with superintendents and principals in locations throughout the state. We were recently asked to serve on the CASSP Board of Directors (Colorado Association of Secondary School Principals). We know which schools will be attracted to a teacher candidate like you, and can help save you untold weeks, months, and even years of searching. More than 50% of jobs are the result of who you know. We know the people who can get you hired.
Does getting a 3-day weekend sound good to you? We focus on finding unique opportunities such as; communities with great outdoor recreation, low cost of living (schools who supply housing), extra income (coaching, sponsoring, etc), 4-day work weeks (these are full time/full-pay teaching jobs), and much more. We know the ins-and-outs of teaching jobs in Colorado and we can help you find a perfect match for what you are looking for. We can even steer you toward things you never imagined existed before!
You wouldn't raft down a river with class-5 whitewater without a guide, nor should you go it alone with something as important as your career. As we look to find you a teaching position, we are with you every step of the way, watching out for you, and analyzing your approach. We can help improve your resume, cover letter, offer new tools for marketing you to employers, and more.
Yes, we believe in Video interviews as a way to save time, money, and gasoline. They can also net faster hiring results. We have found this to be an especially effective tool for out-of-state candidates.
We can give you the edge you need to find the right position in a timely manner. If you rely on web oriented job postings and newspaper advertisements to find a job, you are missing out on many unadvertised positions. Furthermore, you are going to be just one of many resumes flowing into that school. You will be part of the herd. We can set you apart and put you in the best possible light. We can help you get noticed. Another problem with web listings is that they are often out-of-date. In many cases, positions that were filled weeks (and months) ago are still listed as active, and newly listed postings are actually in the final stages of the hiring process by the time they finally get posted. We can bring you unadvertised opportunities where you are not competing with so many other applicants for the same job. We are aware of openings before they get advertised. We can get you in the door first. Schools will come to us to fill positions rather than advertising them at all. We have the relationships with schools that can help you get interviews, offers, choices, and hired.
Yes, there is literally too much information to follow up on. Here is what you are up against: You’ve got over 100 charters (and rapidly rising). Add to this, well over 100 districts, and don’t forget to include private schools. The grand total weighs in at over 500 individual hiring entities. This is, not to mention the fact that, some districts have literally hundreds of schools, and each school with it's own hiring committee made up of many individuals. It would take years of full time work just to fill out the required applications at all of these schools. You just can't keep track of them all. Yes, that is too much information for one job seeker to handle. Colorado Learning has the info you need! It has taken many years, but Colorado Learning has amassed a database with literally thousands of contacts and relationships designed to help find the right position for you.
If there is not enough time to fill out all the applications on your own, then how would you ever get to the follow-up work!?! Individual job seekers need to Follow-up their application by contacting the decision maker(s) directly. This is especially hard without pre-existing relationships.
To be successful in your job hunt, can you count on postings you see on the internet alone? Maybe not is the answer. The latest issue we are seeing is, postings are being created using a future-date to trick the system into keeping them at the top of the list, so you could be looking at a job posting thinking it is 3 days old, but actually it is 3 months old (and, once again, you’re too late, because they are in the final stages of interviewing). Another issue is, postings made where the candidate is already selected from internal sources. This is a very common situation (more common than you will ever know). What you need is a guide directing you to the Real openings. The bottom line is that the internet is a wonderful tool with great benefits to a job seeker, but it is also full of misinformation, and when your career is at stake it pays to have every edge you can get. We can provide you with information that no one is getting on the internet!
Yes, we try to make everything Fast and Easy… We cut paperwork, red tape, drive time, and more. When you call a school to inquire about a position you saw posted, which may-or-may-not even be currently open, they often reply with "have you filled out our application?" You have no choice but to say "No", and then spend significant time and resources applying for a position that may not even be open, all the while not knowing whether that school will ultimately want to interview you. We work hard to take the guess work and time wasted, out of this equation. When we call you, it’s because we have a school that has seen your profile and wants to move forward with you (usually via an interview).
Yes & No. Of course, most of the hiring in the field of education occurs between March and August, but this creates great opportunities in the "off-season". Colorado Learning LLC specializes in capitalizing on these opportunities. When schools end up needing a teacher in the off-season, this is a major crisis for the school because at that point in the year, teachers are either employed or not looking. Schools come to us for help in these kinds of situations. At that point, we are often able to put teacher candidates into unique low competition interview scenarios.
Can Colorado Learning help me become more marketable? Yes is the answer. We have a program called Teach-Con, which is designed to help teachers reposition themselves in areas of high demand. Teach-Con stands for Teacher Conversion and it targets elementary and social studies teachers. We offer a total package designed to rapidly re-tool your skill set enabling you to begin teaching special ed very quickly and provide you with the support and training to be successful in your new area of emphasis. To learn more, click on the Teach-Con page.
We don't focus on any one part of Colorado. The opportunities we work with are all over the state of Colorado. It is our goal to find you a job where you want to be. If you live in Denver and you want to stay in Denver we will work hard to find you a job in the metro area. It is up to you to let us know where you want the job to be, but keep in mind that, it is to your advantage to widen your geography if possible. If you are ready to relocate to wherever the job might be, the chances that you will be hired goes up dramatically. In fact, the best opportunities are in small rural communities where competition for jobs is lower. Furthermore, the cost of living tends to be very low in rural communities, they appreciate and support their teachers, they are a great place to raise a family, and have lower student-to-teacher ratios.
Did you see one of our teacher opening postings on the internet describing a town (or city) in Colorado, but the posting does not say exactly where the town/school is located? Why is this done? Here's the primary reason... We provide a service to schools pre-screening candidates. Schools like this service because it serves to reduce the flow of applications that they need to sift through. Keep in mind that one opening can result in over 500 applications! It takes a lot of time to process this volume. Inundated is an understatement. They depend on us to help reduce their flow, thus they depend on us to not disclose where their school is located. This is a benefit to you because it means you are competing with fewer candidates (in some cases no other candidates). The other reason, less common though equally important, is that we help school districts find teachers even before the positions are officially open. This is done because the school is 99% sure the opening is coming due to a pending resignation or disciplinary action / non-renewal scenario, but they are not yet 100% sure. These scenarios can drag on for long periods of time during the critically short hiring season. Schools don't like this because it leaves them vulnerable to not filling the spot in time for the upcoming school year. For this reason, they ask us to start recruiting for these positions. This is another reason why schools want us to keep their identity confidential. As it turns out, this is a huge advantage to you because we are able to recruit you for positions that have not even been posted yet, this gives you the opportunity to avoid the completion and land the job! Keep in mind that if you don't want to teach in that particular town, you don't have to. You are always in control of what job you accept.
Fortunately for you, the applicant, our system spares you from the tedious and frustrating process of going after dead-end opportunities. There are lots of organizations on the internet that will do that for you. Why do we use the term Dead-End Opportunity? Isn't this a bit harsh? We think not. Opportunities that sound amazing can be a bad match for you for for more reasons that we can mention. Instead, we offer what no one else does; a Colorado only focus with a uniquely high level of personalization and service along with a buffer for both you and the schools. We commit to you that we will only bring you options matching your criteria and where the school has looked over your profile and wants to go the next step with you. We commit to schools that we will only bring to them candidates that have been pre-screened in a variety of ways (they trust us to save them time by bringing them the right candidates). Therefore, if we offered you a list of job openings to choose from (for you to contact on your own), we would be breaking our commitment to the schools and more importantly, we would not be doing our job of prescreening the opportunities before bringing them to you.
If we are successful in finding you a position, we earn a fee. Unfortunately, we can't offer our services for free. We work hard just like you, and we have overhead & expenses to cover.
Schools are not prepared to make the decision to pay the fees involved. They would need authorization from their board etc., when these positions become open; they need to be filled quickly, far more quickly than a board decision could be made. Therefore our fees are paid by the teacher candidate. This is customary in Colorado in the education field where teacher recruitment is involved.
No, you would only owe a fee if we helped you find your job. You would not owe a fee if you found your job on your own. If you went on an interview through us, and were offered the position, you still wouldn't owe a fee. The only way that you would owe us a fee is if you actually accept an offer that we helped you get.
By using our service, you are opening up new options for yourself. You are NOT obligated to accept any offer or to even set up any interviews. When you apply with us, you are opening the door to hearing about more opportunities, going on more interviews, and considering more offers. Your chances of getting the right job only increase by applying with us. It would be easy to conclude that you have nothing to lose and much to gain from applying to Colorado Learning LLC.
No, when you apply with us, we intend to market you for every opportunity that fits your profile. We may have a particular opening right now that fits you, but that is just the beginning of what we plan to do for you.
Hundreds of teachers in Colorado have gone this route over the years. Many would never have gotten their start in teaching if it were not for services like ours. Newer teachers and veterans alike have used this type of service.
Our fee is a relatively small percentage of your salary, especially when compared to going a whole year trying to make a living substitute teaching or literally being unemployed. 90% of a paycheck is much better than the alternatives. The other thing to consider is that, if Colorado Learning can help you launch your career even one year earlier, this extra year of service could increase your retirement pension by many thousands of dollars (far more than our fee)!
The cost of our service is a percentage of your first 12 months (and only the first 12 months) of earnings. It can range from 7-14% depending upon the speed & method of your payment. Exact details of cost structure can be found within our application.

Yes, We have been around for a long time, seen a lot of changes over those years, and helped a lot of people to further their careers in the field of education. The BBB has rated us with an A+ rating (which is the highest rating they give for any company). We work hard everyday to earn, and keep earning, the trust of teachers and the greater community of education in Colorado. We hope to be given a chance to help you and to earn your trust.
It is fantastic if you already have a teacher's license, but this is not required. Our minimum standard is that you are a college graduate with a 4-year degree. Ultimately you will need 24 semester hours in the content area that you will be teaching. Consequently, if you want to be a math teacher, and that was your major in college, you are very close to having your teacher's license. In most cases you will need to take a test, and maybe a class or two. We can explain more about this when you call.
The process of looking for a teaching job can be frustrating, isolating, lonely, confusing, the competition is great, and at times you can feel like you will never get the break you need. We want to help you, and we want to hear from you. Call us at 303-832-3499. If you want to be a teacher, and you have a 4-year degree, call us today for a no-obligation interview. We will assess your profile and background, then we will let you know whether we think we can find you a job as a teacher. If we think we can, we will get you a copy of our easy to fill out application; this begins the process of helping you find the right position for you. No matter where you are in the field of education, we want to help you get where you want to be. Colorado Learning LLC is set up to service the needs of individuals who are serious about moving forward with their teaching career. Keep in mind that signing-up with us does not obligate you to go on interviews or accept offers. It does open the door to getting our help in giving you more choices and opportunities.
Sincerely,
The Staff at Colorado Learning LLC
